KCOCH August Newsletter

Hi Everyone.  Summer is just about history, though the weather is still HOT HOT HOT!

Please remember to stay hydrated and don't over-do your outdoor activities.  Keep a water bottle or two on hand at all times. (You can get some nice insulated ones that will keep water cold for 12 hours no matter how hot it is outside)

Remember we are a 3-2-1 Club.  3- Hours of Service, 2-Hours social and 1 Hour scheduled meeting time. 

Next Regular Meeting for Centennial Hills Club is Weds. 28 at 6:00 at the Fire Rock on Centennial.

August 21st Board Meeting 3rd Wednesday of the month… @ 3 PM at Lonnie’s Office

 August 28th Regular Meeting 4th Wednesday of the month… @ 6 PM @ Firerock Steakhouse.

 August 30th- Aviator’s game with the Strip club. 

September 14th – New Lieutenant Governor installation. 11AM – 2PM @ Cancun Room, Fiesta Henderson 

September 14 th – Southwest Club invites to “Thank you Kiwanians” Tailgate party @530PM at Cashman Field
parking lot; game with the Las Vegas Lights will start at 7:30 pm Free food (burgers and hot dogs) and non-alcoholic drinks. BYOC (Bring Your Own Chair).


  September 21st- 4 the Kids Charity Golf Tourney, Strip Kiwanis Club @ TPC Las Vegas -Volunteers needed 

Sept 25th-- ASK2 event  6 pm location TBD

October – Motorcycle Run - Sunday October 20th November- Salvation Army December- Opportunity Village

OTHER STUFF



At our last DCM The Centennial Hills Club was honored by receiving the Distinguished Club for last years successes! Congratulations to all members!



Kudos to our President Cristina von Lindenberg for wining ($200!) the ASK2 challenge for inviting the most prospect members to our club during last 6 months



At our July Meeting Karl Ferazzi from Morgan Stanley spoke to us about Financial Planning, very interesting and practical subject… Thank you Karl!



It was a real pleasure to have members interclubing, Green Valley club members present were: Club president, Jeff McAllister, Secretary, Marlene Baker, incoming Lieutenant Governor, Karen Gibbs and members Kathleen Karstensson, (not in the picture) Thee Shields and Tom Dugan.





Kiwanians attended Spirit Therapies fundraising at the new Summerlin Ball Park, we had a wonderful time! We had a very tight game… had an overtime and won!


Beautiful Ball Park, Colorful sky, wonderful weather … Just a great night!

Days 4 Girls Update



Volunteers from our partner the Red Cross ravel through Jungles and rivers to get to remote native villages in Panama



Girls in the different villa received education on the menstrual cycle. They were so glad to receive the Bags made from many of our members in Division 28th. Special thanks to Dave and Vickie Dwyer from the Strip Club for leading this project as well as Erik and Randi Moody from our Centennial Hills club that dedicated many hours to this project. THANK YOU RANDI!
